3 PLY MISCELLANYThe following designs are from some of our books which are now out of print. If you have the book, then they can be successfully made in our Hebridean 3 Ply. It has been very exciting to see these past designs taking on new life and new dimension due to the use of a more subtle and complex yarn. Designs from Fisherman's Sweaters |

MYSTICMy complex anchor design shows perfectly in Hebridean 3 Ply, photographed here in Limpet. An amendment is provided to be used in conjunction with the instructions in the book. This garment no longer requires shrinking for the fit. Available in any colour of Hebridean 3 Ply |

INISHMOREHere is another design that came out of the 'Inner Landscape' of abstract geometry. I wanted to create a pleasing geometric harmony, and it obviously struck a chord because this design has proved enormously popular in many different countries. A small amendment is supplied to be worked in conjunction with the instructions in Fisherman’s Sweaters, which is needed to make this project. There are two options for the collar: a roll neck as shown here, or a crew neck as shown in the book. Enough yarn is supplied in all packs to work either option. |

Designs from The Celtic CollectionLISMORE SWEATER & CUSHION COVERI have enjoyed rediscovering this design from 1991. It is one of those that flew in at high speed from the remotest regions of the Inner Landscape: the part where the map states “Here Be Tygers” in an archaic hand. Such designs are slippery customers, ever-tending to transmute into something else, so it is essential to capture the patterns and colours with paper and yarn as soon as possible. You will need The Celtic Collection to make the beautiful cushion cover in Hebridean 3 Ply using the stranded technique. The yarn comes with an amendment for working with the book. You can make the Lismore sweater in the colours shown in the cushion. Again, the book is needed and an amendment is provided. I have increased the size range to four sizes instead of the one-size original. AS |

KELLS CUSHION COVER & SWEATERA copy of The Celtic Collection by Alice Starmore is needed to make these stranded/intarsia designs named after the Book of Kells. Eighteen colours of Hebridean 3 Ply yarn evoke the exotic profusion of the the most famous and magnificent Celtic manuscript ever produced. You can work the colours exactly as I have done, though you may find it more relaxing to use them at will. The cushion cover is obviously a much faster knit than the sweater and it has a plain back worked in Calluna. However, it is just as spectacular and gives you results you can admire on a daily basis. It is designed to fit a cushion sized 47 x 47cm. Both projects include a pattern amendment for use with the book. Available in 18 colours of Hebridean 3 Ply as shown in the Kells Cushion Cover. |
